Introducing
&Beyond Suyian Lodge
Set to open in July 2025, &Beyond Suyian Lodge offers an exclusive retreat in the heart of this vast wilderness. Comprising 14 elegantly designed suites, including a dedicated Family Suite, the lodge embodies the grandeur of Laikipia’s landscape. Inspired by the striking granite kopjes and the resilient flora nestled among them, the lodge’s architectural design seamlessly integrates with its surroundings.
Reflecting the Afro Wabi-Sabi aesthetic, the interiors celebrate the beauty of imperfection and transience, featuring subtle cultural influences from the semi-nomadic Samburu tribe. Modest yet luxurious, the design elements pay homage to the region’s cherished wildlife through natural textures and earthy tones.
Culinary Excellence Guests can indulge in Laikipia’s finest local produce across multiple dining venues, from intimate chef’s table experiences to private starlit dinners. Ingredients are sourced from the lodge’s shamba (kitchen garden) and local farms, ensuring a sustainable, farm-to-table experience. The sunken firepit offers panoramic views of the plains—perfect for sundowners and morning coffee rituals—while the Samburu-inspired courtyard grills and the circular Samburu Bar provide vibrant social spaces for signature cocktails and relaxed gatherings.
For a moment of solitude,
guests can retreat to the library and interpretive center,
explore the interactive map room, or unwind in the fireplace-lit sitting room, perfect for exchanging stories with guides
and fellow travelers.

Wildlife and Conservation
Suyian Conservancy forms part of a crucial wildlife corridor and supports an astonishing diversity of species. Among its rarest inhabitants are the melanistic black leopard and African wild dog, alongside northern Kenyan species such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, desert warthog, and more. The conservancy is also home to thriving populations of elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and both striped and spotted hyenas. Other resident species include dik-dik, Laikipia hartebeest, Beisa oryx, lesser kudu, and giraffe.
Beyond its extraordinary wildlife, Suyian offers unique opportunities for walking safaris, camel treks, and horseback riding—experiences rarely found in traditional safari destinations. Guests can also embark on botanical walks to discover the region’s diverse flora, explore ancient cave paintings and Stone Age artifacts, and engage with local Samburu and Pokot tribes through cultural exchanges and conservation initiatives.

Gateway to Remote Adventures
Easily accessible by air or road from Nairobi, Suyian is a launchpad for remote adventures across northern Kenya. From here, guests can embark on helicopter safaris to explore the Matthews Range, Endoto Range, Lake Turkana, Suguta Valley, and other remote landscapes. The conservancy also boasts spectacular views of Mount Kenya, with opportunities for scenic flights and high-altitude fishing excursions.

A Commitment
to Conservation & Community
&Beyond’s core ethos—Care of the Land, Wildlife, and People—aligns seamlessly with the conservation goals of Suyian Conservancy. These include land stewardship, wildlife protection, and community empowerment through education, healthcare, and sustainable development initiatives.
Suyian’s proximity to other renowned conservancies such as Loisaba and Sosian presents a unique opportunity for joint conservation projects and the potential creation of a ‘super conservancy’. Additionally, Suyian borders Mpala Research Centre, a conservation hub run by Princeton University, where &Beyond guests can gain firsthand insights into groundbreaking research and conservation efforts.
With its exceptional biodiversity, immersive cultural experiences, and deep-rooted conservation mission, &Beyond Suyian Lodge is set to become one of Kenya’s most sought-after luxury safari destinations, offering an unparalleled blend of adventure, sustainability, and refined hospitality.
