La Panthère, the Maison's iconic feline floral scent, has expanded its olfactory variations with La Panthère Elixir. Curling up in soft, intoxicating feline fur and surrendering to the warmth of wild musk combined with velvety jasmine, is the sensation that Mathilde Laurent, Cartier Perfumer, wanted to reproduce with this new accord. Addictive, this iridescent scent with amber and jasmine notes adds nuance to the facets of the original Eau de Parfum.

“Every woman harbors an essence of femininity within her, and every flower carries animal notes in its heart.”

Created in 2014, the La Panthère fragrance revisits the chypre scent with an innovative floral-feline accord. This is the contemporary, free-spirited vision of Mathilde Laurent, who loves to shake up the codes of perfumery.

Why the panther? Because it's the symbol of Cartier, a creative signature for the Maison since its first appearance on a watch with spotted motifs in 1914.

This was the beginning of a genuine fusion of the panther and the Maison, which was intensified through the impetus of Jeanne Toussaint who became Creative Director in 1933. A visionary, in 1948 she fleshed out the creature in three dimensions. With La Panthère Elixir, Mathilde Laurent continues this practice, getting as close as possible to the animal's fur and softness, as if caressing a warm, vibrant and intense velvet.

In terms of design, Cartier has emphasised the curves of the panther's head in an organic and primitive style. The refillable bottle softens the dynamic of the lines, forging a stronger link with the Maison's jewellery emblem.
